ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Saturday ordered an inquiry into the murder of former Senator Akhtar Nawaz Khan, his wife and servant in Haripur on Friday.

The prime minister asked the authorities concerned to apprehend the culprits at the earliest.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

Meanwhile, Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza, Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim, Chairman Senate Farooq H Naek and Deputy Chairman Jan Muhammad Jamali strongly condemned the killing of former senator Akhtar Nawaz and his wife.

In their separate messages to the bereaved family they said they were shocked to learn the sad news of the killing of former senator and his spouse.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
